What will you learn in the PMBWELD302 reaccreditation?

This unit is designed to develop your expertise in industrial welding. Among others, you will learn to:

  • Identify compatibility of commercial electrofusion control systems
  • Maintain and calibrate electrofusion control unit equipment
  • Perform electrofusion welding to required standard
  • Assess quality of completed electrofusion joints
  • Identify compatibility of commercial electrofusion control systems

All learners will be assessed through a combination of the following assessment methods:

  • Face to face training delivery
  • Trainer demonstration and Return demonstration
  • Self-paced learning
  • Scenario-based assessments
  • Practical skills demonstration assessments
  • Questioning – Written or Verbal

What are the entry requirements?

Prior to performing this activity the student MUST hold the PMBWELD302 Electrofusion weld polyethylene pipelines qualification or equivalent qualification and the student MUST supply a copy of this certificate or statement of attainment on the day of the course to successfully complete the course.


What are the resources needed to complete the unit?

    • Welding helmets/goggles
    • Respirators
    • Earmuffs/earplugs
    • Dry leather welding gloves
    • Leather apron

To complete your unit, you will need ongoing access to the following:

  • Computer/laptop with relevant software such as, but not limited to, the following:
    • Internet access through Google Chrome
    • MS Word and PowerPoint
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) including:
    • Long pants
    • Long sleeves
    • Steel cap boots

On top of the resources for study, we also provide the following:

PSAH Morning tea and lunch

  • Morning tea supplied (Tea, coffee, and biscuits) but the students MUST supply their own lunch
  • There is a fridge and kitchen amenities available at the PSAH Training and Recruitment Pty Ltd facility

  • Onsite parking is limited at the PSAH Training and Recruitment Pty Ltd facility but there is parking available on Robson Street

What you need on the day of the course

For classes, students will need to bring a valid drivers licence or valid form of Identification (Government issued I.D. card), supply a copy of their PMBWELD302 Electrofusion weld polyethylene pipelines qualification or equivalent qualification, ensure they are fit to work and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and MUST supply their own lunch.

Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available?

Due to the high-risk nature of the unit, RPL pathway is identical to the Assessment Only Pathway, where students are required to complete the assessment activities as a challenge test of their existing knowledge and skills competency.
