Our trainers and assessors are certified McElroy butt welding instructors and we deliver our training and assessment in line with McElroy Manufacturing Industry guidelines, and the Plastics Industry Piping Association of Australia guidelines:

What will you learn in PMBWELD301E?
This unit is designed to develop your expertise in industrial welding. Among others, you will learn to:
- Identify materials as being compatible for welding
- Calculate appropriate pipe welding parameters
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment
- Perform welding to required standard
- Assess quality of completed joints
You will also learn basic chainsaw safety to satisfy the duty of care when cutting the pipework.

All learners will be assessed through a combination of the following assessment methods:
- Face to face training delivery
- Trainer demonstration and Return demonstration
- Self-paced learning

- Practical skills demonstration assessments

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal pre-requisite requirements for this unit of competency according to the training package requirements.
What are the resources needed to complete the unit?

- Hand tools used in this process

To complete your unit, you will need ongoing access to the following:

What you need on the day of the course
For classes, students will need to bring a valid drivers licence or valid form of Identification (Government issued I.D. card), ensure they are fit to work and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and MUST supply their own lunch.
